Why We Liked It
- It Does Double Duty
Since the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro washes and vacuums your floors simultaneously, it saves you time and replaces your broom, mop, and vacuum.
Additionally, it cleans your floors in such a way that they dry within minutes, meaning you no longer have to kick your family out of whatever room you’re working in while it dries.
Let’s see how it works:
We can see that the powerful machine takes in an awful mess of eggs, kitty litter, cereal, milk, syrup, and pet hair. After that, the tiles are somewhat wet but dry in seconds.
Not only that, It seems really good if you’d put in some of their Febreze formula. In fact, I bet no one would ever hate that scent of freshness, no one.
- It Cleans What You Can't See
So you thought all things were cleaned up? You might want to think again.
Sometimes, pets, or fussy kids, who knows, can make a mess that we can not see, such as those footprints under the litter. With the help of blacklight technology, the hiden footprints are identified clearly and cleaned thoroughly with the Pet Pro.
- Consistency
Switching tools when cleaning can be a pain, and really throw off your rhythm and routine. Anyone who struggles with this could find the Multi-surface brush-rolls to be a great asset.
This brush roll, as we see it, are a combination of Bissell’s three type of single-functional rolls for rug and wood flooring. It has thick fibers and runs at 3,000 RPM to pick up debris.
Although we love this multi-surface tool, which is specially designed for pet parents, you can still buy different rolls seperately. But, be prepared to change rolls from surface to surface.
- Great design and attachments
The Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro features a pet hair filter and a multi-surface pet brush roll that makes multi-surface cleaning quick and easy. These attachments are designed with innovative microfiber and nylon brushes that can mop and pick up dry debris simultaneously.
If you are worrying about where the dirty water goes, well, stop worrying now. This machine has two seperate water tanks. Dirty water never goes back and you will always mop and suck the floor with clean water.
- It's Easy to Use
Using the Pet Pro couldn’t make it easier to clean sealed hardwood floors, simply plug it in, press the hardwood floor (or area rug) setting and you’re ready to go. Press the trigger to spray the cleaner and move it as you would a vacuum, back and forth.
The Pet Pro’s sleek and thin design makes it easy to maneuver and clean under chairs, tables, and couches.
- It Can Easily Clean a Fair Size Area
The Pet Pro has a 25 ft cord, which makes it easy to clean large areas. The tank holds approximately 28 ounces. This is enough to handle an average size room without any issues.
- It is Easy to Maintain
Maintaining the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro is essential to ensure that it continues to work at its optimal level. As with pretty much any vacuum, if you do not pay attention to the maintenance of the tool, you may experience less than ideal cleaning performance.
Clear / Clean Brushroll
It should come as no surprise that the brush roll is a significant player in the performance of the Pet Pro. Because of this, there will be times where the brush roll has to be cleaned out, which is super easy, by the way.
You just need to fill some water into the the tray that comes with the Pet Pro, turn on the machine, and it will clean itself.
Wash / Change the Filter
The Pet Pro only comes with one filter, so it plays a significant role in the product’s overall performance. It is essential that it is cleaned following every big cleaning session.
Because it is a washable filter, it does not have to be replaced as often as others. After you have cleaned the filter, simply let it air dry before you use it again. Replacement filters are also available on the market.
Empty / Clean the Dirty Water Tank
When it comes to emptying the dirty water tank, it is also an extremely easy task. Better than the Bissell Crosswave All-in-One (1785A), the dirty water tank of Pet Pro is provided with a strainer.
After cleaning your floors, just take off the tank, lift out the strainer, get rid of the debris and dirty water, rinse them, put them back and you’re done. If that sounds confusing, here’s a guide video:
Getting the Most Out of Your Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro
We believe that pet owners who have homes that are on the smaller side or those who do not allow their pets to roam freely in and out of every room in the house can make great use of this tool.
It does not have enough power to handle deep pile carpet, and could quickly become frustrating if you have thousands of square feet to go over. However, those with smaller homes can really benefit from the sleek and easy to use design.
Although the Pet Pro does not have the suction to absorb water up quite as powerfully as a dependable carpet cleaner, when you are cleaning daily and have to move from one type of surface to another, it can be a convenient tool.

Things That Might Trigger a Second Thought
As with anything, the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro is not without its drawbacks. Some of these are specific to certain living situations, others are more general.
A few things about the Pet Pro that might trigger a second thought include:
- More attachments expected
The Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro does its job. However, we, as well as a bunch of other users, would be happier if it comes with more attachments, such as tools to reach tight spaces, extensions, and corner kits;
- Not for thick pile carpet
If you have a thick pile carpet, you will not be able to deep clean it with this vacuum. The same goes for deep cleaning your floors.
While this vacuum is a fantastic option for everyday cleaning and maintaining a tidy home, the fact of the matter is that it does not stand a chance at really giving your floors a good deep cleaning, and will by no means take the place of an old fashioned mop and bucket or steam cleaner.
- Possible puddles
The Pet Pro also tends to leave a small puddle on the floor if you forgot to put it back on the rinsing tray after your cleaning.
- The Price
The Pet Pro does cost a significant amount of money, making it more of an extravagance than a necessity to many families. On Amazon, it has a full listed price of over $300.
However, it should be noted that it was on sale at a lovely discount, bringing the price down to .
How Does It Compare with Bissell Crosswave All-in-One
We all know that there are a multitude of mops and multi-surface cleaners on the market today, and Bissell is responsible for many of them. The brand has been around for decades, and in that time has become known for their high-quality and durable products.
So, let’s take a look at Bissell’s other top-selling cleaning tool, and you can see which will work best for you and your home.

Bissell Crosswave All-in-one (1785A)

Final Thoughts
The Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro is an excellent tool for any homeowner who has pets that shed. It far outperforms the traditional broom and mop.
If you already have a durable tool that can clean multiple surfaces, it might not be worth the upgrade. However, it does provide a nice consistency for those who do not already have a tool of this kind and who need to maintain a steady momentum when tackling housework.
Although Pet Pro is a durable product from a trustworthy brand, things do happen that warrant a return. In conclusion, it is an excellent addition to the established brand’s line of pet cleaning tools. There is definitely some extraordinary potential when used in specific households.
With the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro, your furry little buddy doesn’t have to be a source of frustration any longer.

I’m confused with a few things. When you’re cleaning laminate flooring then going to tile, do you have to change the brush? Same with carpet, you have to change brush when cleaning carpet to flooring? Also from what I’m reading is you have to clean the brush manually, then what does the tray do?
Anne
Hi Mary, if you use the multi-surface roll, then you don’t need you change it. The tray is designed for self-cleaning the roll. We have to clean the dirty water tank manually. And, I also cleaned the roll manually when it entangled with long hair or threads.
Barbara Alexander
I can’t get the brush to turn. took it apart cleaner bush,still it will not turn.So leaves streaks on floor. Have
to reclean them.
Anne
Hi Barbara, thanks for telling us the problem annoying you. Here are possible solutions to the malfunction you mentioned:
1. Pull out the cord from power outlet first;
2. With the roll installed, turn the brush roll manually. If it does not turn easily, take it off, check for and remove any entangled linear debris;
3. Hold its left end (the one with “PULL” tab) with one hand and turn the roll with the other hand. If you can’t turn it with ease, check for and remove any debris that jammed its ends.
The roll should be ready to work properly again now. If not, it may be the problem of belt or driver, and possible causes include pouring too much water to its storage tray (water level above the max line) when running self-cleaning mode. In this case, you might have noticed plastic smell when using the cleaner.
Before calling for customer service, these two videos may be useful:
1. Watch this if the problem remains after obstructions are cleared;
2. To fix loss of suction, watch this
